Xiaomi keeps on surprising people with its mazing smartphones and this time it is coming up with several amazing features in its Mi8, Mi 8 Explorer Edition and Mi 8 SE. This series of three smartphones are the successors of Mi 6. The brand has tried to introduce several new features with these three phones too. There are lot’s of expectations that people have for these three upcoming models. Let’s take a glance of overall features that these smartphones are coming with.
Design and Display
Starting with the Display and Design, the Xiaomi Mi 8 comes up with a notch at the top of the display. The cut-out this phone has is similar to that of the iPhone X. Apart from that also allows the phone to offer more secure face unlock method. The smartphone has a 2.5D glass at the front and a four-sided curved glass back that is held together by an aviation-grade aluminium frame. In comparison to that the Mi 6 also comes with a glass-sandwich design but it has a smaller screen with a size of 5.15-inches with a resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels.
Hardware and Software
Coming down to the Hardware portion, the Mi 8 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. Both the smartphones has 6GB RAM + 64GB internal storage for base model, whereas the Mi 8 is also comes in 128GB and 256GB. And the Explorer Edition of Mi* comes with 8GB RAM. Despite of that, both the phones come with dual-SIM support, NFC, Bluetooth and USB OTG.
For the software portion, the XiaomiMi 8 boots the latest MIUI 10 running atop Android Oreo.Even the Mi 6 is also expected to come up with the same Android version.
Cameras and battery
Now, the Camera and battery portion, the Mi 8 ships with dual 12MP cameras, with one having a wide-angle sensor and the another having, a telephoto lens. Not only that the camera has a 20 MP front camera too. The Mi 6 ships with a pair of 12-megapixel cameras at the back and an 8MP selfie camera.
The Mi 8 has a 3,400mAh battery that backs it, whereas the Mi 6 ships with slightly lesser power with a 3,350mAh cell.
As per the rates followed in China, Mi 8 is expected to start with RMB 2,699 (~ Rs 28,000) and goes all the way up to RMB 3,299 (~ Rs 34,000) and the Explorer Edition may price slightly higher with RMB 3,699 (~ Rs 39,000).
Whereas, Mi 6 that never made its way to India may start with RMB 2,499 (roughly Rs 23,500) for 64 GB model.
Overally, the smartphones are coming up with amazing designs, best in class internals, top-notch quality cameras and several new features.
