Huawei P20 Lite Review
P20 Lite is a very good looking smartphone. The design of the phone is elegant and has rounded corners. There is a little notch at the top of the screen. Speakers, camera and a light sensor are in this notch. The size of the P20 is 71.2 x 7.4 x 148.6mm. It is compact but not very small.
The back of the P20 is made of the glass. On the back side, you will find the fingerprint scanner and the rear camera. The rear camera slightly sticks out.
Huawei P20 Lite is available in 4 colors: Sakura Pink, Klein Blue, Platinum Gold and Midnight Black. In weight, the phone is very light. The weight of the phone is only 145g which is lighter than the most of the phones.
The headphone jack of the P20 Lite is always appreciated. It is placed at the bottom of the phone next to the USB-C port and the speakers.
Huawei P20 Lite has HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor. The same processor is found in several mid-range honor smartphones such as the Honor 9i, Honor 7X, and Honor 9 Lite. The RAM of the phone is of 4GB and the Storage is of 64GB. Storage can be expanded by using a microSD card.
P20 Lite comes with a 5.84-inch display that is full HD. Display of the phone is bright, punchy and vivid. It has a battery of 3000 mAh which is removable.
P20 Lite runs EMUI 8.0 on top of Android 8.0 Oreo. Connectivity options of the smartphone include WiFi 802. 11ac, FM radio, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0 and GPS.
P20 Lite comes with a dual rear camera at the rear. One is of 16MP and the other is of 2 MP. In the daylight you get the great shots. The front camera of the P20 has a 16 MP sensor. It is really good to take selfies but the background while taking selfie appears slightly exposed. Also in the lower lights, the camera struggles a bit. Face unlock feature of the phone uses the front camera.
When it comes to performance, P20 Lite has mixed reviews. Everyday tasks like browsing and using social apps run very smoothly but it struggles when pushed a bit.
Huawei P20 Lite handles the heavy games like very well but some odd dropped frame and stutter were noticeable at times. In terms of raw power, the Kirin 659 processor cannot be compared to Qualcomm’s new processors.
On a positive note, P20 Lite doesn’t get too warm when pushed. Also, 4G connectivity of the phone is solid. It has a single loudspeaker at the bottom. Speaker gets reasonably very loud but at high volume, it doesn’t perform well.
